Many HubSpot users will find that after configuring their Basic Integration for HubSpot Contacts, Companies, and Deals, their next step will be to import their HubSpot lists for Smart Send Campaigns.

To accurately track the delivery and response of a Postalytics Smart Send Campaign within HubSpot, it's crucial to utilize the HubSpot import feature. This is a very straightforward process that's required to:

  1. Map HubSpot Contact fields into Postalytics for both mailing and personalization uses.

  2. Receive Postalytics delivery and response status events directly into HubSpot.

Important Notes about HubSpot Lists:

  • HubSpot lists can be imported from Contact, Company, or Deals objects only.

  • Lists imported using the HubSpot Basic Integration will receive tracking and delivery events to the object used for the list.

  • While Postalytics supports list import from .CSV and Excel files, campaigns using lists with these import sources do not connect to HubSpot for tracking and delivery events, or timeline activity events.

  • To import a HubSpot list with the Integration, your version of HubSpot must support the Lists feature.

  • Lists that include Contacts with addresses in the United States and Canada will be split into two separate lists - by Country.

Import a List For Smart Send Campaign

  • From the Lists dropdown menu, select “Import List.

  • Next, on the Import New Contact List page, select the “HubSpot Basic” option.

  • Name the List, and then use the second dropdown to select the HubSpot Basic Integration being used.

  • Once the HubSpot Integration is selected, a new drop down will appear to choose the HubSpot Contact, Company, or Deals list to be imported. Click “Next”.

  • Next, review the List Data Preview for the HubSpot list selected. If the preview is correct, select “Looks Good! Start Mapping”.

  • Map each of the HubSpot data fields to the corresponding Postalytics fields in each of the sections using the dropdowns in each field.

If variable data will be imported for personalization within your template, those fields, up to 34 unique fields, will be mapped in the User Defined Personalization Fields.

  • Then select “Confirm Field Mappings”.

The following page shows the data fields selected in the previous step.

  • Review for accuracy and select “Import Now”.

The list will be imported and ready to use in a Smart Send Campaign.
