Triggered Drip Campaigns Default to “Test Mode”
Whether you use a Premium Integration or the Basic Integration to create a new Triggered Drip Campaign, it is automatically in “Test Mode”. This unique Postalytics feature allows you to test your integrated Triggered Drip Campaign to make sure that it is working properly, without producing mail or using your Direct Mail Credits.
When you trigger mail to your campaign while it is in Test Mode, it will generate a PDF for easy review. The PDF is exactly what gets created in a “Live” campaign, but it doesn’t get printed and mailed. This way you can tweak and configure your creative, your data and/or your integration.
How Do I Toggle From Test Mode to Live Mode?
Toggling your campaign between Test Mode and Live Mode is quick and easy and can be done as often as you like. Just click the toggle button in the upper right corner. It will be red when in test mode and green when it is live.
Test your Triggered Drip – Trigger A Mailer
In order to test your Triggered Drip Campaign, you’ll first need to “fire” a trigger from your HubSpot Workflow. You can fire as many tests as you like while in Test Mode.
Step 1: Go to your HubSpot Workflow and choose the Enroll feature to send a test contact to your Triggered Drip Campaign. You’ll need to make sure they have a proper name and address (without proper name and or company and address information, the test will not work).
After you’ve selected a Contact to test, with the appropriate data to fulfill the test, you should review the Workflow History feature within HubSpot to ensure that your Contact was properly processed by the HubSpot Workflow and handed off to Postalytics. If there was a problem, it will be indicated in the History section.
Note: whenever you have concerns about your HubSpot Workflows integrating with Postalytics – check the History feature.
Step 2: Back in the campaign dashboard of your Triggered Drip Campaign, in test mode, you should see Total Valid Contacts of at least one, more if you tested additional contacts. You can test as many times as you like with test mode, and you don’t have to worry about sending mail or using credits.
Click “Preview Created Mail”. A popup window will appear with PDF’s of each of the mailpieces generated for your test records. Remember that since you are in test mode, none of these pieces have actually been sent to the printer. However, once your campaign has been toggled to “Live Mode” and your triggers are coming through, clicking “Preview Created Mail” will show live mail that has actually been sent to the printer.
When you’re happy with the results, ensure your HubSpot Workflow is live and toggle your Postalytics Triggered Drip campaign to Live Mode. If needed, purchase your Direct Mail Credits within Postalytics.
To Turn Your Campaign “Live” You Need Credits
Before you’re able to toggle your campaign to “Live Mode”, you’ll need to have at least 100 Direct Mail credits for the format that you’ve chosen. (By format, we mean the creative format/postage combination, such as 4×6 First Class, 6×9 Standard, or Custom Envelopes). If you already have credits, your campaign will seamlessly turn live when toggled.
If you don’t have at least 100 credits, a pop up window will appear when you use the toggle to switch to live mode from the Campaign Dashboard. Select “Purchase Credits Now” and proceed with the steps to purchase credits.
Now that your campaign is live it will “listen” for your automated trigger, and send the postcard or letter you’ve chosen to each recipient with no further interaction.
You can just sit back and relax while the campaigns keep rolling along.
