Syncing your direct mail campaign related events from HubSpot to the campaign dashboard's Response Center allows you view all of your campaign results in one place, and we've made this possible without needing a direct integration!
Using a webhook action, set up in HubSpot, this feature reports the data directly to your campaign dashboard, on the Response Center tab.
For example, if you send a direct mail postcard campaign and it results in sign ups to your newsletter, that signup data can be sent to your direct mail campaign dashboard, via the webhook workflow.
Create an Endpoint URL
Before you begin the webhook action set up in HubSpot, make sure you've generated a Campaign Endpoint URL in your direct mail campaign. See our help doc The Response Center for step-by-step instructions.
How to Set Up the Webhook Action in HubSpot
Now that you've got the Endpoint URL, we'll walk through an example to set up a newsletter sign-up form to trigger the webhook action.
Set Up the Newsletter Sign-up Form
In HubSpot, select Marketing, then Forms.
Next, select "Create form" to start the setup wizard.
Select "Standalone page", then click Next.
Choose “Newsletter sign-up”, then click Start.
Add the Webhook Trigger
To add the webhook trigger, in the Automation section, select “Create your own simple workflow”.
Select the trigger as shown below and click "Create".
Now, add an action by clicking the plus sign below the triggering event.
From the menu on the left, choose “Data ops”, then “Send a webhook”.
Next, create the action:
Method: POST
Webhook URL: the Endpoint URL you generated from the direct mail campaign.
Authentication type: None
Request body: this may be left as-is, or it can be customized to your preferences.
Test the Webhook
Now you're ready to test the action.
A successful test result will show “Success” in the Status area.
With a successful test, it’s time to save the action and turn on the workflow. Click "Update" when done.
Review and Publish
The next steps are to Review and Publish the form. If all looks good, click “Publish”.
Complete the Form to Trigger the Workflow
Once published, access the link to complete the form to trigger the workflow.
When the form has been completed and the workflow triggered, go to Automations > Workflow > [Your Workflow] and view the Action log:
If the workflow was triggered successfully, you’ll see events similar to below:
Check the Results in the Postalytics Campaign Dashboard
Finally, check back on your Postalytics campaign dashboard, Response tab to confirm the sync has happened.
Now, with this process in place, you’ll be able to view the related direct mail campaign events directly on your Postalytics campaign dashboard!
